Deaf Development Programme

Another Farewell

Kimhak and friends

Kimhak and DDP Staff

Hong Kimhak (center) has been with us at DDP since 2009 when he was hired as the manager for the Job Training Project.  Job Training may be the single most difficult project at the Deaf Development Programme because it involves recruiting students from around the country, negotiating with their parents, maintaining a hostel for 35± young adults, identifying and engaging training centers in various skills, running the DDP training barber shop, and then–when training is completed–helping deaf youth to set up their own business in their home province or work for an established company.  And then there’s the follow up of all those who have gone through the program.

Today was Kimhak’s last day at DDP and the staff gathered to say farewell and wish him well as he moves to rejoin his family in Kampong Chhnang Province.  We wish him well in all his future endeavors!
