Closing of P-CEN Training
For the past three weeks, professors and trainers from the Pre-College Education Network (P-CEN) at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York were in Phnom Penh, offering training in deaf education to the education staffs of the Maryknoll Deaf Development Programme and of Krousar Thmey deaf schools. This was a first-time effort in this area for all concerned and it was difficult, but today at the closing ceremony it was also declared successful.
Here Justin Smith, the co-director of the Deaf Development Programme, speaks to the assembled education staffs about the value of the cooperation between Krousar Thmey and the Deaf Development Programme.
The teachers are already looking ahead to phase two of the training program next year.
